ILLNESSES AND THEIR TREATMENT

EARS, Infections

The ear is composed of three areas:

The outer ear, which is the visible part of the ear plus the auditory duct that ends at the tympanic membrane.

The middle ear, which is formed by three small bones that transmit the sound from the tympanum.

The inner ear which changes the sound waves to nerve impulses that go to the brain. The labyrinth, which is responsible for the body’s equilibrium, is found there.

The main symptoms are: An earache is caused by inflammation. Noises may be heard and the ability to hear diminished.

The most frequent causes for infections are:

  • In the cuter ear, dirty water that enters the ear while swimming.
  • In the middle ear, bacteria that enters though the nose and throat.
  • In the inner ear, infections in the middle ear that are transferred into this part of the ear.

Infections in the middle and inner ear are the most dangerous because hearing may be lost in they become chronic.

Suggested treatment against infections:

Includes the intake of a natural antibiotic like bee propolis, and the application of two drops of aloe vera extract every 4 hours on the area. This will reduce the infiammation, relieve discomfort and help to fight the infection. In some cases a doctor may need to make a small incision in order to drain the pus from the infection.

How to eliminate earwax:

Do not put objects in your ears, it may be dangerous. The specialists recommend the following: Lay your head on the side and place two drops of any of the following oils inside the ear: liquid glycerin, mineral oil, or almond oil. Allow the oil to penetrate into the ear. Do the same with the other ear, when you stand up the oil will come out, leaving only enough oil to soften the wax.

The next day, get a dropper and fill it with lukewarm water. Lay your head to one side and tilt it slightly downward.

Put two drops of water slowly into the ear.

Allow it to follow in and carry away the softened wax. Do this for two days. Dry your ear with a hair dryer or put in a drop of alcohol in order to get the rest of the water out.

If your ears are stopped up and you cannot hear well, the following is recommended: Mix one tablespoon of glycerin and one tablespoon of salt in 1/2 glass of boiled water. With a dropper put 10 drops in each nostril as many times as it is necessary to open the ducts that go from the nostrils to the middle ear. The liquid will drain through the throat.

EPILEPSY

Epilepsy is a cerebral nerve disease which is characterized by internal sensations of change of attacks.

Symptoms: There are two types of attacks: changes in internal sensations or the loss of consciousness. These are the only symptoms produced by this types of attack; while in the case of the other type there are convulsions and muscular movements.

Suggested treatment:

First, avoid factors which tend to initiate it like: fatigue, too much eating or drinking, emotional stress and fever. These attacks may happen only once in a lifetime or quite frequently.

  • Ginkgo Biloba: This plant has been proven to be more effective when administered together with the medication prescribed by your physician for preventing epileptic fits, whether a derivative of dopamine or something similar. The improvement is due to a greater quantity of blood, loaded with oxygen and nutrients, reaching the damaged areas so that the nerve cells are reestablished quicker, allowing the person’s damaged faculties to improve.

ERYSIPELAS

This is an infection caused by a bacteria which affects the skin with a very defined contour and is very painful.

Symptoms: A sudden high temperature may occur. It takes the form of a spot with very defined contours, is red in color and generally starts on the face. The crisis lasts 5 to 6 days and ends with the peeling of skin.

Causes: Infection transmitted by contagion.

Suggested treatment:  It consists of strong doses of natural antibiotic like propolis, as well as the intake of Vitamin A and E. It is also suggested to rub aloe vera and bee propolis cream on the affected area.

EYES, Their Problems

Description of eye: The cornea is transparent external membrane of the eye. It is the one to receive the first impact of light. Next to the cornea comes the iris, a thin colored ring . The iris includes the pupil, which controls the amount of light that enters the eye through dilation and contraction. Behind the iris is the crystalline lens or optic disc. This is where the light rays are finely focused to form the image on the retina, situated in the rear of the eye. All together they from the Eye ball.

Problems in the eyes are many and various. They may be caused by an infection, trauma, irritation, or a lack of a given vitamin, a deformation of the eyeball, a hardening of cornea, stress, etc. We will describe these problems in general.

a) Wounds and blows to the eyes:

If there is a wound in the cornea or the conjunctiva, these may become infected. To prevent this, immediately give the person 3 tablets daily of bee propils, and three of garlic.

If the eye has been hit or punched and the cornea or the conjunctiva are filled with blood, it may be dangerous and the person may lose the eye. It is recommended to see a physician immediately. Meanwhile:

Suggested treatment:

Put two drops of aloe vera extract diluted with boiled water. The eye should be closed and covered with a patch. It must remain immobile.

If the pain increases it indicates that the pressure in the eye is increasing. Take the person immediately to a specialist otherwise, the problem may become severe and he or she may lose the eye.

b) Conjunctivitis :

One or the two eyes may be affected by this infection which is evidenced by itching, red eyes, pus and excessive discharge mainly during the morning.

Suggested treatment:

Clean the eyes with boiled water and a clean cloth. Apply to drops of aloe vera extract in eyes. Open the lower eyelid by pulling out on the eyelashes and place one drop of the mix there. Repeat this every 4 hours until the problem disappears.

c) Glaucoma:

Is the result of high pressure inside the eye. It normally occurs in adults.

There are two types of glaucoma: Acute glaucoma is when there is suddenly a strong pain inside the eye. Vision becomes cloudy and the eye turns end. The pupil of the affected eye becomes larger than the one of the good eye and the eye feels very hard to the touch. If the pain does not stop in 24 hours, seek an ophthalmologist’s help.

Chronic glaucoma occurs slowly and its symptoms are not generally felt. Its symptoms are: Gradual loss of eye sight usually affecting the peripheral vision first.

This is a dangerous disorder which may cause blindness, therefore immediate medical care is recommended.

Causes may be due to diabetes, arteriosclerosis or high blood pressure.

Suggested treatment:

The Italian doctor Michele Virno, as well as Dr. Linus pauling, winner the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, recommend taking high doses of Vitamin C as well as consuming large amount of Ginko biloba, lemons, apples, and oranges. Avoiding any physical exertion is also recommended.

d) Sites:

Swelling in the the shape of a pimple which forms mainly on the edges of the eyelids.

Since it is infectious, it is recommended to apply lukewarm water.

Suggested treatment:

Put aloe vera extract on the eyelid every 4 hours. Periodically cleaning the eyes with aloe vera extract will help prevent these and other infections.

e) Growths:

Protuberance that goes from one side of the eye to the cornea.

This is caused by the air, dust, and sun or by the effects of light produced by electric or arc welding.

Suggested treatment:

Before going to bed put 2 drops of aloe vera extract in the eye. Continue this every 6 hours. Do this for several days until the outgrowth diminishes. Also take 2 tablets daily of Beta Carotene.

f) A hemorrhage in the white part of the eye:

This problem may occur after straining oneself by lifting something heavy, coughing forcefully, going to the bathroom when constipated or receiving a light blow to the eye. This problem is produced when a small vessel in the eye bursts. It generally isn’t dangerous and its effect disappears in a few days.

Suggested treatment:

It helps to use 2 drops of aloe vera extract, every 4 hours be cause it helps reduce inflammation and heal the eye.

g) General eye health:

The best suggested treatment to maintain healthy eyes is:

Adequate nutrition which includes Vitamins A, B complex, C, E and proteins. In addition to this it is important to have good lighting when you are reading or using your eyes for extended periods of time.

A lack of vitamin A will cause as consequence: tired eyes, a sensitivity to the light, a lack of moisture in the eye, a susceptibility to infections as well as night blindness which causes an inability to see in little light. These symptoms are painless. This is caused by a lack of vitamin A. This vitamin is found in dark green and yellow vegetables, in orange vegetables like raw carrots, in dairy products, fish and spinach. Vitamin A is mainly responsible for the formation of the visual purple which helps in the ocular adjustment to light changes.

The presence of vitamins C and E as well as vitamin B2 and Niacin prevent ocular and retina hemorrhages. They also strengthen the eyes against infections.

They help fight eye arteriosclerosis and together with vitamin E strengthen the ocular muscles which produce squinting and double vision.

FEET

a) Athlete’s foot:

Micro-fungus in and among the toes.

It is evident by an irritation, swelling and fever in the toes and excessive itching. This is a contagious infection so it is recommended to take precautions.

causes are contagion in contaminated water or contact with another person.

The suggested treatment, besides daily hygiene is:

Dry feet very well and apply any type of cream with salicylic acid and aloe vera with aloe vera with propolis. Prepare a cream by grinding a couple of aspirins into powder and mix them with the same amount of aloe vera gelatin, gel, or aloe vera extract.

Put this mix on the infected area and cover it with a piece of plastic or a bandage. Also cover the foot with a sock so that the mixture does not spread out. The combination of these two elements is ideal to fight this disorder. Use this for several days until irritation disappears.

b) Fungus on nails:

This is a common ailment but hard to eliminate. One of the reasons that it is difficult to eliminate this disorder is because of the difficulty of normal fungicides to penetrate through the nail to the skin under it which is the root of the problem.

Aloe Vera has a ability to penetrate deeply and carry or serve as a vehicle to transport other elements. Aloe Vera itself has fungicide properties; however, it is commonly combined with other active elements to achieve optimum results.

Aloe Vera activator extract combined with other elements like salicylic acid and applied to the affected area after bathing help in the treatment of fungus on nails.

Suggested treatment:

Prepare a cream by grinding a couple of aspirins into powder and mix them with an equal amount of Aloe Vera activator. Add some drops of acetone to the mixture which will help make it more runny and penetrate better.

Place this mixture on the infected area where you have the fungus. Try to cover it with a band aid and wear a glove to protect the mixture.

This is a long treatment. Use the cream during a minimum of one month.

It is recommended to eat Yogurt daily.

These lactic bacillus or acidophylus destroy the “Candida albicans” fungus which may be the one causing the fungus under the nail.
